Product Spotlight: Corbosa

Industrial style cladding is in, and we’re big fans of the bold statements that architects can create with concrete exteriors.

Here at Nichiha, we aim to innovate products for the future of construction. Currently, although the look of concrete is in, there are some inefficiencies that come with masonry applications. To achieve the same distinctive look without the challenges that come with traditional methods, we are proud to have Corbosa in our concrete series line-up.

What We Love About Concrete Cladding

A close-up of fiber cement cladding on a building exterior with a blue sky in the background.

Concrete design delivers modern appeal to commercial and residential buildings alike, and for years, our Nichiha team has offered fiber cement cladding manufactured with a concrete-inspired finish.

Our ArchBlock and EmpireBlock are popular collections with both commercial and residential clients, offering understated style and high-performing exterior protection with the refined, modern look of concrete. Concrete design adds a distinct style to a building’s exterior, but there are a few issues and limitations that come with installing concrete:

While concrete applications can offer exterior protection and long-lasting style, it’s entirely possible to get that same polished, modern look using other materials. Architects and designers can use fiber cement cladding to achieve the same style successfully.

The Corbosa line was added to help expand upon the kind of look that concrete offers.

How Corbosa Elevates the Look of Concrete

A modern building is shown with large glass windows and concrete cladding on the exterior.

There are a few reasons why we’re so excited about our line of concrete-inspired cladding.

Corbosa was named after the iconic modern architect Le Corbusier, pulling inspiration and influence from his concrete designs. Le Corbusier is known for challenging tradition, defying design norms and is seen as a pioneer in modern architecture. “Progress is achieved through experimentation,” he said.

In that same vein of progress, we offer an innovative take on concrete design with Corbosa.

Corbosa Architectural Wall Panels are available in two bold colors: Moondust and Shadow. The cladding is manufactured with a wet concrete appearance to add impact and texture to a building’s exterior.

Corbosa makes it possible to achieve the look of concrete without the mess or project complications that come with a masonry application. Fiber cement panels also include a clip system for smoother installations, making it easier for builders to finish projects on time.

Architectural wall panels bring the added benefit of a built-in rainscreen, meaning moisture is funneled away from the building envelope. This helps ensure the project is long-lasting, the building is safer for inhabitants and fewer maintenance issues for owners.
