2016 Hub 9 at Orenco Station in Hillsboro, OR

Building planners for the city of Hillsboro, Oregon have the unique challenge of balancing the rich history of the town, founded in 1842, with the modern aesthetic driven by local high-tech companies such as Intel, whose nearby campus is located in the area dubbed the Silicon Forest. So when developers built an apartment complex near a new transportation hub in the city, they wanted a structure that would marry the historic feel of the area with a modern vibe. “And that’s exactly what Nichiha helped us do,” said Charlie Baxter, project architect with Leeb Architects. “It helped us bridge the two.”

2016 Aguilera Student Housing Apartments in La Crosse, WI

2016 1128 Chestnut Street Apartments

Within the last few years, Blackney Hayes Architects, along with others, are working with developers to revitalize this area of downtown Philadelphia as part of a larger revisioning project for the city. As part of the revitalization, Blackney Hayes Architects undertook a project to restore and modernize an existing mid-rise building on Chestnut Street, located near Thomas Jefferson University and Hospital.

2015 4730 California

The owners of 4730 California, an 88-unit, seven-story apartment building, planned to retain the property long term—and that meant they wanted something with mid- to high-end design and low maintenance. Architects Weber Thompson and contractor Compass General Construction were recruited to accomplish this goal.
