Your Questions Answered: AIA 2019

Jul 26, 2019 / Jim Wueste

Whether we missed you at our booth or you just need a little more information about what Nichiha is all about, we compiled the most common questions we heard from architects during AIA 2019 — and then answered them in one convenient place. Need a sample? Want more info about our popular Technical Design Review? We’ve got you covered.

1. What does Nichiha offer with its Technical Design Review?

What exactly is this “Technical Design Review” that I’ve seen in emails and all over Nichiha social? In short, it’s a one-on-one session with you and a member of our A&E team getting down to the nitty gritty of your upcoming project.

The Technical Design Review is meant to identify project needs and marry them to Nichiha requirements. Our hope is that scheduling a TDR will help you, the architect, ensure proper specifications, lower project costs, and help protect your product warranty, making it easier to spec and work with Nichiha going forward.

Intrigued and want to learn more? Nichiha’s David Hohenstern goes into a little more detail about the TDR process in this blog post. If this sounds like something you’re interested in, sign up here to get connected with a Nichiha technical team member.

The Technical Design Review is meant to identify project needs and marry them to Nichiha requirements, in advance, so that details and specifications for the project are precise and thorough, which helps prevent problems and added costs later on down the road.

2. How do I schedule a Lunch and Learn?

We know how important Continuing Education is to you, and that’s why we offer three different AIA-approved courses about the innovative design and installation of our Architectural Wall Panels.

Want to learn about Nichiha’s rainscreen technology? We’ll walk you through how our built-in rainscreen system protects the health of your building through effective moisture mitigation. Interested in how fiber cement wall panels can impact your next project? Our team will explain the panels’ adaptable design and efficient installation process. We even offer a course on the Green Utilization of Fly Ash in Fiber Cement.

Did we mention lunch is on us?!

3. How do I order a sample?

At Nichiha, we believe that seeing is believing. We know that once you get your hands on our product, you will be able to feel and see the difference. That’s why we make it easy to get your hands on product samples — and we’re talking about actual product samples, not swatches. We offer premade sample kits for each of our product series so you can actually see our color and texture offerings side by side, ensuring you find the perfect look to fit your vision.

Speaking of color and texture, our Architectural Wall Panels are a science-backed alternative to other more expensive products. Our panels capture the look of metal, stone, brick, wood and more in considerably less time, at a fraction of the cost, and with unmatched durability.

Oh, did we mention our samples are free? See for yourself: Browse products and request a sample here.

4. Do you have any new products?

Innovation always comes first at Nichiha. With new product launches at the beginning and middle of each year, there’s always something new and we can’t wait for you to see. This January we kicked off the year by adding Ribbed to our custom color product options and a new panel size option for our VintageWood line.

This year at AIA 2019 we released our brand-new Novenary Tile, which features a newer, stronger formula that allows for deeper grooves that cast the most dramatic shadow lines yet, helping projects really come alive — something we know architects will love. We also introduced VintageWood Spruce, the newest and lightest member of our VintageWood color family.

Novenary Tile’s deep grooves create the illusion of visual changes at different times of the day, adding depth and drama to the building as the defining grooves subtly shift the look of the wall as light moves across it.

You can browse all of our products on our website. We’ve also made it easy to keep up with our upcoming product releases on our blog.

5. How do I find a rep in my area?

So you’ve heard about the durability of our panels and how they can give you the look you want in not only less time, but also at a fraction of the cost. And now you’re ready to get started.

Nichiha representatives are available to assist with questions about design, pricing, and other topics. Whether you’re working in the commercial or residential realm, or you just want to learn more about what kind of impact Nichiha can have on your next project, we have a team ready to answer all of your questions.
